As an individual who yearns to be an impact-maker, the Witness Tree Institute of Ghana, a trailblazer and advocate for education around the world, gave me such opportunity to embark on this adventurous journey. This statement of mine will beg the question, “What has the WTIG done in your life to warrant such praise and admiration?”
Having joined a community of learned teachers, all of whom are thriving in their
respective fields, my interest was piqued to explore additional opportunities to
to attain higher heights as a special needs teacher.
Inspired by the powerful caliber of brilliant and experienced teachers from Ghana and the USA, I enrolled in the Ghana National Association for the Deaf Certificate of Proficiency program after the Witness Tree Institute program ended and worked diligently to attain the highest grade in my class.
I know that I will continue to be interested in learning, not because of accolades and awards but also because for the first time in many years, I feel extremely proud of myself for accomplishing a self-assigned feat, and I know this is just the dawn of greater things to come.
From Ghana with love

Since wrapping up the WTIG 2024 journey in July, I’ve been sharing the positive energy from the trip everywhere I can! I developed a Professional Development workshop for educators, engaging 40 faculty and staff at Massasoit Community College in Brockton, MA in “Reviewing Intentional Communication Practices for Educational Settings.” This workshop was inspired by the thoughtful communication practices I learned from theWTIG 2024 cohort, and it was a privilege to share those insights. I hope to be invited to facilitate this session in more schools.
I’m also thrilled to announce my new role as Chief Program Officer at Massachusetts Services Alliance, the State Commission for AmeriCorps and Volunteerism. Discover more about our mission at [Massachusetts Services Alliance] (https://www.mass-service.org)!
